Mallawa Irrigation Agricultural Scholarship
Mallawa Irrigation are offering 4 scholarships in partnership with CUC Balonne. These scholarships support students enrolled in either vocational or undergraduate studies in agriculture, water or environment.
Mallawa/CUC Balonne Agricultural Award
1 x Year 12 Mallawa Award: Promising agricultural student from St George State High School who has been accepted into tertiary level studies. $4000 awarded at the end of the school year. This will be awarded to a high achieving and motivated student, who has been accepted into higher education studies in agriculture, water or environment.
Decision of awardee to be made in consultation with St George State High School.
Mallawa/CUC Balonne Scholarships
3 x $2000 for students currently enrolled in a VET or undergraduate course in agriculture, water or environment. Successful applicants are able to reapply for the scholarship for as long as they are enrolled in their course.
Eligibility criteria include:
- Studying through an Australian university or registered training provider
- Registered with CUC Balonne as a current student
- Permanent home address within the Balonne shire
- Express need for funding to support study
- Decisions will be made by a panel comprised of representation from Mallawa, CUC Balonne and CUC Central, and may include an interview.
Applicants need to submit:
- Completed online application form
- Proof of enrolment at an Australian university or registered training organisation
- A written character reference, or letter of support
- Short (up to 500 words) letter addressed to CUC Balonne outlining why you have applied for the bursary, indication of financial need and how the bursary funds will be used (for example to cover costs of residential schools, technology, PPE).
Successful recipients will be asked for a photo and a statement that can be used by Mallawa Irrigation and CUC Balonne.
