Centre Manager – Country Universities Centre Balonne

About the role

We are seeking an exceptional Centre Manager to oversee the operations of the Country Universities Centre Balonne in St George and Dirranbandi, QLD. As the Centre Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students and driving the strategic objectives of this important regional education initiative. This full-time position will see you based primarily in our St George campus, working to ensure the efficient and effective day-to-day running of the two hubs.

What you’ll be doing

• Providing high-quality student support and guidance, ensuring an exceptional learning experience
• Managing the centre’s facilities, resources and technology to maximise utilisation and accessibility
• Developing and implementing operational plans and policies to support the centre’s strategic goals
• Fostering strong relationships with university partners, local stakeholders and the broader community
• Overseeing the centre’s administrative functions, including finance, HR and marketing
• Leading, mentoring and developing a small team of support staff
• Reporting on the centre’s performance and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

What we’re looking for

• Significant experience in a senior management or leadership role, ideally within the education or not-for-profit sector
• Exceptional stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders
• Strong operational and project management capabilities, with a proven track record of driving continuous improvement
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
• Demonstrated understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities facing regional and remote communities
• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, such as business, education or social sciences
